Elf the Musical, Jr.

Join us for an Empowered Players production of Elf the Musical, Jr. Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Affrilachian Music with Dr. Dena Jennings

Join us for an evening of Appalachian and Black American roots music with Dr. Dena Jennings. Cello Virtuosas: Celebrating Women Composers

Honor Women's History Month at the Performing Arts Center as we celebrate Cello Virtuosas with the music of cellist Emma Hays Johnson. A Fluvanna native, Johnson is a performing artist, private instructor, and co-founder of the original concert series, Empath Concerts. Currently residing near the D.C. and Baltimore areas, she performs chamber concerts regularly with Washington Musica Viva, SoloX, and Galatea Chamber Music. Johnson has worked alongside artists such as two-time Grammy-winning violinist from the Attacca Quartet, Domenic Salerni, Michael Buble, Il Divo, and the Transiberian Orchestra. ...
